When you hear about what’s going on in the world today, you start to feel discouraged, right? I hear stories about people committing suicide for various reasons and I wonder what could’ve happened if they had crossed paths with my website. If I would’ve had the opportunity to listen to them and if they would’ve found some glimmer of hope in the midst of the chaos they’d been living.

There’s so much hatred, suffering, and anger in the world. However, people tend to forget that evil exists. It’s real and we see it everyday when we turn on the news, when we hear tragedies that occur but… don’t we add more fuel to the fire with the way we respond?

You can still be fierce while fighting back with love

We become outraged and figure the only way to fight back is to hit it ten times harder. I’m all for fighting back, but why not do it the right way? Why not reach out to those people that are struggling so they won’t reach a breaking point and commit something that can effect the people around them. Why not take necessary precautions against those that deserve it to avoid future, escalated situations?

Fight the good fight. Be the hope for the hopeless. Be the light for their darkness. Be the support for their burdens. I truly feel like the world would be a better place if every person had a similar state of mind… but we’re driven so much by the emotions and our weakened flesh that we react according to the situation rather than thinking about the bigger picture.

You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching, Love like you’ll never be hurt, Sing like there’s nobody listening and live like …

Yes, evil exists. But I bet 95% of such crimes or deaths are from people who were crying out for help. One act of kindness could’ve led them in a different direction. It’s not easy to do the right thing when we’re filled with so much negative emotions and I’m the first to say I’ve let my emotions control me one too many times. But people are dying every single day because of it. They’re dying because we refuse to take those precautions. They’re dying because we’re choosing to ignore the signs and symptoms.

You can still be fierce while fighting back with love. Even if it’s one person, that’s one less life that’s lost. Imagine an army of us doing the same work with the potential outcome of more than just one life. Part of my fight is through prayer. Part of yours can be something else. Whatever it may be, let every part be done with a peaceful heart.
