I saw this sign in a cute boutique’s dressing room and I couldn’t resist snapping a photo. I’ve always been one to try and see the positive outlook in my current situation. Now, don’t get me wrong. I have my “off” days as I like to refer to them. I have moments where my emotions get triggered to a point that forces me to have to take a step back and just breathe. My mind attempts to go to that dark place when things take a slight turn.
But then I take a more in depth look at my surroundings, what I’m going through and remind myself that this is a part of life. It’s the shittier part because it deals with emotions I’d rather avoid but it’s necessary for one reason or another which is why I always say that things happen for a reason and I stand by that.
The seasons will pass, and life will change but you will always continue grow
The pain, sorrow and discomfort are just a season of life. Eventually they fade out into the next season you decide to bring in. Some come unexpectedly because life is unpredictable but you have the power to determine how you want to handle it. You decide if you want to embrace the rainy days, the scorching heat, the freezing wind and everything in between.
I’m not talking about living in denial and discarding those profound feelings you’re experiencing. Sometimes you have to just let yourself feel. It reminds of a quote that I read in one of my favorite (romance, of course) book series where a character is talking about how hurting is a reminder that we’re alive. It’s not pleasant, but sometimes those “negative” feelings mold our character in ways sunshine and rainbows just never could.
Hurting is feeling and feeling is living and isn’t good to be alive.
K. Bromberg, the driven series
We just have to keep reminding ourselves that at the end of an uncomfortable moment, a long and difficult day, what seems to be an endless and trying journey, “It’s all good,” because it’s going to make a warrior out of you. It’ll mold you like clay and chip away the parts of you that don’t work or don’t need and leave you with enough or more to take on whatever comes next.
It’s a saying that shows people you are not phased by any lack of support, or hate or jealousy that might be thrown at you. I’ve used it so many times, especially when I’ve been thrown some kind of shade and it’s one I’ll continue to use. The seasons will pass, and life will change but you will always continue grow.
