Not On Our Time
Be patient with yourself. I know how tempting it is to act on impulse and over-exert yourself to try and prove you’re capable of doing something. You want to be able to sit back and say that you did it. But if everything came easy to us all, nothing would be worth accomplishing.
If you focus too much on the timeframe you’ve set for yourself, it’s only going to feel like a deeper blow when it’s not met. Sometimes we force ourselves to keep moving because on the outside, it looks like others have never stopped. If they were able to accomplish this at this time, why can’t I?

Ok, true, but what happens if you go by their standards and you realize that you fell short? The majority of the time, it has a great impact on your desire to actually finish the goal. You feel like a failure, like you’re not cut out for this. Giving yourself that grace to be YOU makes all the difference.
Patience is power. Patience is not an absence of action; rather it is “timing” it waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way.

Being you may mean taking your time to truly understand something. It may mean you do a certain task multiple times before you’re confident enough to not second-guess the next time around. You probably take a step back for a day or two when you feel too overwhelmed. Maybe you work better under pressure and hit it all in one go. Whatever the case may be, patience allows you to reflect and unlearn instant gratification.
The world is constantly moving, always on the go and yes, the competition has only gotten more intense but you were never meant to hit your mark at all times. You learn so much when you’re forced to stand still. Waiting doesn’t mean laziness. You can still do your part and put in your effort, but the greatest rewards arrive when they’re meant to and sometimes that means it’s not on our time.
You learn so much when you’re forced to stand still
Patience heightens anticipation and gratification while also reminding you that you’re ok where you are now. There’s no need to rush through the process to reach the end and feel like its more significant because you got their quicker. WHEN you get there, it’ll mean more because YOU got there, period. As they say, time is precious and every second counts both in the going and the waiting.
