My name is Hong Hoa Ly-Gonzalez and I am the founder of Couture by Hong Hoa, an upcoming online-based business that offers custom clothing design services to clients.
The very essence of Couture by Hong Hoa is the made-to-measure and custom-made clothing pieces. Why custom-made? Because every woman deserves to feel unique and beautiful in her own measurements.
I am a 29-year old career woman who developed a passion for fashion designing ever since I was a little girl but could not pursue it at the time. My interest for fashion design heightened during my early years in high school and my dream then, was to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York.
However, growing up in an Asian household, my strict parents did not see fashion/modeling in general as an ideal career for me. I ended up staying close to home as my parents desired and obtained a Bachelorโs in English Literature and Accounting followed by a Masterโs in Human Resources Management at the age of 24.
I am forever grateful for my parents who always want the best for me and push me to strive further. I do not regret not pursuing fashion designing at FIT when I had the opportunity to because it is never too late to go after your dreams. Now, I have a career and I am ready to revisit a passion that I left about 15 years ago.
Fashion designing is in my blood and this passion only gets stronger. I am ready to give it my all and show the world my talent. The important thing to take away from this is never give up your dreams no matter how difficult it is or how long it takes you to get there. Dreams that are not realized are dreams not pursued to begin with.
