Taking that trip to Florida made me realize something. I didn’t cherish a single thing the six years I lived in that state. I mean, this wasn’t the first time I’d been to my aunts apartment or stayed in West Palm beach before… but the few times that I did visit back then, were never savored or being lived in the moment.
It’s insane how one little change in your attitude can make such a big difference in the outcomes of your every day life. How it can change your perception and even give you a peace of mind when things don’t go as planned. Had I been the person I am now, I would’ve lived a completely different life back in Florida.

Going back there made me think, “God, I wish I would’ve taken more advantage of this apartment, the luxury to take a vacation with friends or family where the stay is completely free. I wish I would’ve enjoyed the weather and the attractions that Florida had to offer right at my fingertips.” One single change in my attitude would’ve had me looking back and saying “I’m sad it’s over but I enjoyed every minute of it while it lasted.
It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it

”Unfortunately, these are lessons you learn only after making the mistake or when it’s too late. It may be too late for the past but it’s not too late for the future. I can’t lie and say when I moved to Jersey, my attitude changed completely. That I learned the lesson the minute I left Florida. It happened to me around a year and a half to two years later.
From that moment on is when I can truly say I cherished every memory I made, even if some of them had their time limit. Let this be a lesson to all and learn from me. There’s no worse feeling than that of regret. I know people say you shouldn’t regret what you go through and I, 99% of the time say the same, but it is safe to say that, at times, you wish you could’ve done things differently.
Appreciate what you have
It’s a tough concept to understand, to live up to, and to practice because life, sometimes, isn’t fair. But believe me, it won’t only help you but it’ll change your life. I know I talk about the word Cherish a lot but to this day, it has been one of the biggest lessons I’ve ever learned and it’s so essential to exercise it in your life. I just don’t want all of you to make the same mistake I did and lose years in a way that’ll make you question and regret your actions in the long run.
Appreciate what you have and cherish it with all your heart before one day it’s gone. That saying may be cliche but it holds so much truth.
